GETTING STRAIGHT TO IT Ok, so i must admit, it's my first time blogging a fresh blog post in a good while and if I'm totally honest, my writing skills are probably not tip top, a bit rusty round the edges trying to get my brain in gear, ha! So I'll probably keep this first dose of 'Monday Motivation' fairly short and snappy. What small bit of motivation do I want to share with you today though? Answer: The topic or suggestion for you to fully embrace never ending improvement and development for yourself and your life. To never stop wanting more, seeing things better, brighter, more clear. To never settle for too long in a life that's just familiar without opening your eyes and mind and asking yourself on a consistent basis...... 'What are you excited about for yourself and in your life, and in the rest of the year to come?' (ANSWER IT NOW IN YOUR HEAD, ...then continue reading) ![]() WHY I BRING UP THIS SUBJECT I recall several conversations recently with people close to me, and here's two examples of how some of the questions and answers went. Question: What are you excited about then at the minute or for the rest of this year? Reply: Nothing really. Question: How you feeling recently? Reply: Wow, I've not even been asked that in like ages. Now, I don't mention this to imply that we should ALWAYS be excited about things, or always thinking or asking how we're feeling. But to me in all honesty, these are both such fundamentals when it comes to you experiencing more genuine happiness on a regular basis. When you're conscious. When you're awake. When you're not just playing along day to day the same script on auto-pilot, and not even feeling happy for the majority of the time. We have to be excited about something, feel we're growing, progressing, evolving, becoming that bit better everyday as a person, in our characters; Otherwise we get complacent, become 'the moaners', bitter, bored - ultimately unhappy, not fulfilled, not whole, not FULL. Not feeling loved. Soooo, we have to be looking at SOMETHING ahead of us, spiritually (your mind), physically (your body), financially (with your income), materially (your house etc), relationships (love/connections) - any one of the above, with a means to and INTENTION TO GROW. Any specific desire or goal you have and reach, brings about the drive then to keep creating more and more of the life that you do WANT. REMEMBER: Attainment breeds confidence, and confidence breeds strength... And strength gives you that feeling of WOW, I CAN ACTUALLY DO THIS! ANYTHING! and so you keep going. TO FINISH UP With regards to the second question about often not REALLY knowing how each of us feels, or asking with the intention to take better care of one another..... How do you expect to feel connected and loved if you don't even check in with yourself and evaluate how YOU'RE feeling every now and again. Stop to be present today. To be honest with yourself. What can you start creating, building, changing or doing differently going forward from today? - the way you communicate with your friends and family - the effort you put into your job - the amount you talk to your partner - the amount of time you actually stop to give yourself credit for everything you've ALREADY DONE & BECOME - the amount of 'you time' you give to yourself to relax - the amount of time you spend with your children - the awareness acknowledging that actually, you do want more in an area of your life. Acknowledge that 'thing', whatever it is, say hello to it, hold its hand, say okay, we're going to do this. We're going to see this differently from now on. Try it, play with it. Change takes time, creating new habits take time, confidence takes times. But we HAVE time. Use it! :) Choose ONE thing today that you want to start seeing differently. And watch how other things around you start to switch and up-level for the better too! Good luck on your journeys guys! ;) Katie x P.S - Wasn't so short and snappy afterall hey?! Ha! BE AUTHENTIC. BE UNIQUE. BE YOU.
